20th century reproduction in newsprint of a Japanese woodblock design depicting the destruction of the Mongol Armada of 1281. A force of 100,000 men was destroyed by a typhoon, with the survivors being finished off by the Japanese. The name Kamikaze, or 'Divine Wind' was subsequently adopted by the suicide pilots of the Second World War.
