Alphonso Psalter [formerly known as the Tenison Pssalter]. England [London/Westminster or East Anglia]; 1284 and circa 1316. Language: Latin Source/Shelfmark: Add. 24686, f.2 The psalter was probably commissioned to celebrate the proposed marriage of Prince Alphonso, son of King Edward I, to Margaret, daughter of the Count of Holland, which did not take place due to the death of Alphonso. The miniatures were added by the sister of Alphonso, Elizabeth de Bohun, circa 1316
