Illustrator: Chant, J. J H. Graves, 1857 Source/Shelfmark: Foster 139 Lieutenant-General Sir George Pollock, G.C.B. (1786-1872). A three-quarter length portrait, bareheaded, the body turned slightly towards the left, right arm raised. He wears a dark blue uniform with gilt buttons and belt; on his breast are the Star of the Bath, the India general service medal with four clasps, and the Kabul medal. A range of mountains in the background. 56 by 44 ins (142 by 112 cms). Commissioned by the East India Company 1856. Engraved: J.J. Chant, published H. Graves, 1857.
