Wm Hayter Pinxt – Manchester Square London. A half-length portrait, turned slightly to left, facing and wearing a pink velvet cloak and black cravat. Sir Ernest Augustus Charles Brudenell-Bruce, 3rd Marquess of Ailesbury was born on 8 January 1811 at Warren's Hotel, St. James's Square, London, England. He was the second son of Charles Brudenell-Bruce, 1st Marquess of Ailesbury and Henrietta Maria Hill. He succeeded his elder brother as 3rd Marquess, 1878. He married Hon. Louisa Elizabeth Horsley-Beresford, daughter of John Horsley-Beresford, 2nd Baron Decies and Charlotte Philadelphia Horsley, on 25 November 1834 at St. George's Church, St. George Street, Hanover Square, London, England. He died on 18 October 1886 at age 75 at Savernake, Wiltshire, England. He was buried at Great Bedwyn, Wiltshire, England. He was Vice-Chamberlain to Queen Victoria, 1841-6 and again in 1852-8.
