Oil painting on canvas, Lord Chancellor John Somers, Baron Somers of Evesham (1651–1716) (after Sir Godfrey Kneller), by Ranelagh Barrett (fl.1737 – London 1768). William III's most trusted minister, he became Lord Chancellor in 1697. The 2nd Earl of Oxford bought part of his famous library which passed to the 1st Earl Hardwicke, husband of Somers' niece.
