York Station was designed by the North Eastern Railway architect Thomas Prosser and William Peachey. On completion in 1877, the 13 platform station was the largest in the world. York is a junction station for locomotives travelling to the North-East of England and Scotland from the South-East and Midland regions. F Moore was the collective name of a studio of artists operating in the first two decades of the 20th century.
