Image description

Chicago, Illinois (IL), United States of America Chief detective John Egan and police captain Daniel Gilbert in front of the remains of the car, with which the later victims drove to the crime scene of the Valentine's Day massacre. In a garage at 2122 North Clark Street the seven victims were executed. The executed victims were standing in front of a wall and pierced by bullets. It were the gangsters Adam Meyer, John May, James Clark, Al Weinshank, Frank and Pete Gusenburg and the optician Dr. They belonged to the gang of George (Bugs) Moran and were probably killed by Jack 'Machine Gun' McGurn, a hitman of Al Capone. The murders became famous as the Valentines's Day massacre. Although Jack McGurn was accused he never had to face a trial.
