Unedited footage of the plunder and looting of European art by the Nazis and the recovery by "Monument Men" of the 5th Army Wartime Art Theft - Painting Taken By Germans San Leonardo, Italy: U.S. 5th Army Monument Men working for the MFAA (Monuments, Fine Arts, and Archives) section of the Allied Armies during WWII discovered paintings stolen by the Nazis from the Uffizi Gallery and Museum in Florence, Italy. These paintings had been unloaded and placed in a jail cell in San Leonardo, Italy by retreating German troops. Among the masterpieces were paintings by Sandro Botticelli, Filippo Lippi, and Giovanni Bellini.
