On the right, Medea sits thoughtful on a stone bench, and addresses her gloomy, absent-minded gaze towards her joyful sons, who are playing; she leans her right elbow on her knee to sustain her head; in her left hand she grabs the hilt of a sword; the boy in the middle goes near his mother with a branch in his left hand, while the other one entertains himself with milk vetches; the figure of the witch, painted with dark colours, contrasts chromatically with the colour of the children's skin; on the background, high pillars are connected with low walls, behind one of which can be seen an old pedagogue looking at the scene; from Casa di Giasone.
