Image description

"HIS IMPERIAL MAJESTY" GEORGE CRUICKSHANK MAKES COFFEE IN THE WORLD'S SMALLEST INDEPENDANT STATE IN SYDNEY. George Cruickshank, also known as His Imperial Majesty George II, makes coffee in what he claims is the world's smallest independant state known as the Empire of Atlantium in the Sydney suburb of Potts Point July 15, 2001. The state, an inner-city apartment measuring just 60 square metres, was founded in 1981 by three young teenagers in the backyard of a relative's house as a political statement that the requirements of geographical boundries in the modern world of communications was unnecessary. Since then, Atlantium has grown into the world's premier global sovereignity movement and virtual state, with the population currently residing in more than thirty-five countries. The empire's official language is Latin, and they have a calender system known as the Annus Novas System that calculates the date since the last Ice Age.
