Edward Theodore 'Ed' Gein (1906-1984), murderer and grave robber committed his crimes in Plainfield, Wisconsin. Gein created masks, a body suit and other objects from the tanned skins of the dead women's bodies. Gein's crimes were the subject of the 1974 film, DERANGED. Three classic films, PYSCHO, THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE, THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS, featured hideous characters inspired by Gein
