Some 37,000 U.S. troops are stationed in South Korea as South Korea remains technically at war with North Korea after 1950-53 Korean War ended in an armed truce. A director of the Korean Institute for National Unification said Seoul will tell North Korea at the historic inter-Korea summit that the deployment of the U.S. troops in South Korea is a matter between Seoul and Washington as he mentioned that Seoul think the issue of North Korea's nuclear and missile development programmes should be handled in ongoing talks between Pyongyang and Washington.
