He's back alone! (colour litho)

He's back alone! An episode that recalls the tragedy of which the father of the poet Giovanni Pascoli was the victim of in August 1867, took place near Cirie (Turin). The farmer Giovanni Massa, sitting in the box of his cart, returned to Rivarossa, when he was attacked by a stranger and left on the ground stunned. The horse continued along the route so many times traveled and reached the house. Massa's wife, with some neighbors, made the road again until she found her husband still unconscious. The poor fellow was admitted to the hospital with injuries, fortunately, not serious. Illustration for Courier Sunday, 6 January 1957.
