Berghaus and Sphinx Observatory on the Jungfraujoch, taken in December 1948. The inauguration of the Swiss research institute, the Jungfraujoch High-Alpine Research Station, took place on 4 July 1931. The weather station, which has been in operation since 1922, was integrated into the new building in 1938.
