Image description

The nine paintings form a sequence, which should really be called the ‘Triumph of Caesar’, because it depicts a single procession - the arrival of Julius Caesar borne on a chariot passing in front of a triumphal arch. Gaius Julius Caesar ([3] July 100 BC[4] – 15 March 44 BC) was a Roman general, statesman, Consul and notable author of Latin prose.
