DERELICT INDONESIAN TANKER INSIKO 1907 IS TUGGED INTO HONOLULU HARBOR, 2002-05-02 (photo)

The burned out Indonesian tanker Insiko 1907 is tugged into Honolulu Harbor, Hawaii on May 2, 2002. The tanker is the vessel that the dog "Hokget" spent 24 days aboard alone until rescuers found the vessel, rescued the dog and tugged the derelict ship to Hawaii. The dog was inadvertently abandoned during rescue efforts after an engine room fire aboard the tanker on March 13 killed one crewmember and severely damaged most of the ship. The Hawaiian Humane Society launched a $48,000 rescue effort April 5 that was called off two days later when it was believed that the damaged tanker had sunk.
