Artworks by David Jones (1895-1974)
One of a collection of draft works comprising an artistic genre, the finished products of which David Jones termed 'painted inscriptions', most of which centre on Roman Catholic or Welsh mythological themes. The text comprises a couplet from the work of the 14th century Welsh poet Gruffudd Gryg. The text is presented in Welsh and Latin, with a note regarding elision.
