Mamie Phipps Clark (1917-1983) and her husband Kenneth Bancroft Clark (1914-2005) were psychologists who conducted research among children and were active in the Civil Rights Movement. They founded the Northside Center for Child Development in Harlem and the organization Harlem Youth Opportunities Unlimited.
