Image description

The first remote-controlled newspaper typesetting system for a daily newspaper in Switzerland was put into operation in eastern Switzerland, recorded on 20 February 1964. The manuscript is punched in the editorial department as a punched tape, scanned and sent to the printing works, where it is in turn punched to produce a punched tape that controls the automatic typesetting machine, as shown in the picture.
