Image description

Published by Thomas McLean (1788-1875). Satire on the rapacity of the Conynghams after the death of George IV, and their exit from Windsor Castle laden with gifts or plunder. A spherical Elizabeth Conyngham (1769–1861) wheels a barrow followed by husband Henry, 1st Marquess Conyngham (1766–1832) with a bundle of bedding on his head and accompanied by their children, Francis (1797–1876) and Harriet Maria (d.1843). A ragged Irish peasant woman derides them.
