Ecuadoreans headed for a cliffhanger presidential election on Sunday with a former coup leader and a banana tycoon poised to enter a second-round runoff on November 24, according to election results. With 72 percent of polling stations counted, retired army Col. Lucio Gutierrez had 19.28 percent of the vote, according to results provided by the Supreme Electoral Tribunal. Banana tycoon Alvaro Noboa finished second in Sunday's presidential election, scoring 17.60 percent of the vote with results from 88 percent of polling stations counted.
