The adolescent Jesus Christ, haloed, is wearing a red robe, tight on the chest, over a white garment; he is sitting on the cental seat of a horseshoe shaped bench, into the nave of the Temple; around him, old men dressed as theological scholars are questioning him an listening to his wise teachings; Jesus Christ turns his back to the main apse, flanked by two side apses and the vaulted chapels of the side walls; on the left one sees even his Mother and Saint Joseph attending to the scene; the painted frame of the panel, mimicking marble and cosmatesque decorations, hosts on the left three lobed mirroring, the central one boasting the bust of a veiled saint holding a book.
