The blessing Savior in the clouds, at the bottom left the Saints Romuald and Benedict, and a praying monk as benefactor, on the right the Saints Attinia and Greciniana. First draft to the Romuald altarpiece (1492), which was formerly in S. Giusto outside Volterra, today, however, in the gallery to Volterra, in the Palazzo dei Priori. The drawing shows only the first idea, because the painting contains significant changes. So the two holy virgins knee between St. Romuald and St. Benedict while they are each paired together in the sketch. At the bottom of the predella sketch various saints are indicated, which are situated around a central figure. Below traces of a cut signature. Pen drawing, washed.

Federzeichnung, laviert.
