Model London and North Eastern Railway (LNER) railway engine, 1941 (c). This model wood and tin steam engine was made by Sergeant Ernest John Trimmer, Royal Army Ordnance Corps, while a prisoner of war at Stalag 383 in Germany, following his capture in Corinth, Greece, on 26 April 1941. It is made from cocoa tins and Red Cross wooden parcel packaging. The doors are hinged and the wheels all work.
