Card from the Fatherland Front's campaign for the 1949 Bulgarian parliamentary elections. At the top of the card is the date when the elections were held, 18 December. The flags of the USSR and Bulgaria are shown next to each other, representing their unity. In the background there is a factory, a symbol of the working class and Bulgarian progress under communism. In the middle there is an image comprised of a wheat ear, sprocket, the Bulgarian flag and the flag of the Fatherland Front. This symbolizes the unity of peasants and workers. The text at the bottom reads: “With the united ticket of the Fatherland Front - to peace , construction and a happy future”. The Fatherland Front was the only option available on the ballot paper.
