Bonn, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany At the miners' protest of 1959, more than 60,000 members of IG Bergbau took part in the "Marsch nach Bonn" ("march to Bonn"). They came to Bonn from several big German cities by special trains, buses and Rhine steamers. The IG Bergbau provided luncheon vouchers to participants. The food was distributed from trucks at the gathering places.
