Antares Stars -Rho Ophiuchus and Pipe Nebula - Pipe Dark Nebula to Antares and Rho Ophiuchus: The Pipe Nebula, visible to the left of the image, is part of a larger region of dark nebulae that extends to the stars Antares and Rho Ophiuchus (right). Seen at left of this photo, the Pipe Nebula is a very large dark nebula wich is part of an even larger complex of dark nebulae The complex of dark nebulosity stretches 13 degrees in what has been called a “” dark river”” from the Pipe Nebula all the way to the vicinity of Antares and Rho Ophiuchus. On the right side of the frame is a large complex of red emission nebulae near Antares and Rho Ophiuchus
