Image description

Leka in Nord-Trøndelag September 1963. On June 5, 1932, three-year-old Svanhild Hartvigsen (then Svanhild Hansen) was found unscathed and sleeping on a rock shelf, 200 meters up the Lekamøy mountain. The mystery of how she got there is never clear, but a theory is that she was taken by Ørn while she was playing outside the house where she lived. The theory is strengthened by her clothes being torn, but ornithologists believe that her 19 kilos was too much for an eagle. She herself has no doubt that this was happening. Here Hartvigsen talks about the incident 33 years ago, which later became the book "Eagleovet". Photo: Aage Storløkken / Aktuell / NTB
