Image description

A caravan of used materials moves across the cemetery square, taken in Solothurn, on 12 March in the war year 1941. Schoolchildren collect used materials once a month in forty different quarters and bring them to a “quarter woman”. These are then transported by lorry to a large collection point, where former unemployed people take over the sorting.
