Image description

The bell tower of the Bruderklauskirche in Schwarzsee in the canton of Fribourg, which is still under construction, uncovered and running into a narrow pyramid, was taken on 5 August 1965. It is the first church in Switzerland to be constructed of iron. This construction method was chosen because of the unstable ground on which the church stands. Her name Niklaus von Fluee, who had already been called a living saint by his contemporaries of the 15th century, was canonized in Rome by Pope Pius XII on May 15, 1947.
