Gelada baboon (Theropithecus Gelada), Simien Mountains National Park, Amhara region, North Ethiopia. The cold (Theropithecus gelada) is a species of primate catarrino of the family Cercopithecidae endemic of the highlands of Ethiopia. Like baboons, they are terrestrial and spend their time feeding on the prairies. Some authors include the gelada within the genus Papio, but since 1979 it has been included in another separate genus, Theropithecus. Theropithecus chilled is the only living species, although at least two other separate lineages are known in the fossil record.
