German soldiers recover a provisions bomb from the snow-covered fields in Kholm. By continuously dropping such V-bombs loaded with food, material and ammunition the trapped soldiers in the Kholm Pocket got supplies. During the Kholm Pocket, the "Kampfgruppe Scherer" successfully defended the town for 105 days. (A photo of the Propaganda Company (PK) by war correspondent Richard Muck, who flew into the pocket at the beginning of March).
