Admiral (since 1910) Maximilian Graf von Spee, chief of the cruiser squadron in East Asia and winner of the sea battle near Coronel (1st of November in 1914) in a contemporary picture. He could not prevent the destruction of his squadron near the Falkland Islands and died as the flag ship "Schamhorst" sank on the 8th of December in 1914. He was born on the 22nd of June in 1861 in Kopenhagen.
