JABRIL RAJOUB SHAKES HANDS WITH HAIM HANEGBI IN HEBRON, 1997-01-24 (photo)

Jabril Rajoub, the Palestinian in charge of the Palestinian Authority's security apparatus (L) shakes hands with Haim Hanegbi, an Israeli whose grandfather lived in Hebron at the time of the 1929 massacre of Jews, as a group of Jews visit Rajoub's offices January 24. Just before the Israeli troops redeployment in Hebron last week Rajoub was in the news for saying that the 400 Jewish settlers currently living in Hebron should all move out. Rajoub praised the group of Jews that visited him, calling them "honorable", but was not complementary towards the many Jews who do not support the Israeli troop redeployment, inferring the Jewish settlers currently living in Hebron.
