Carmon and his 19-member "Baltimore Bombers" basketball team lost all their checked in luggage on their return flight from Los Angeles after an Amateur Athletic Union (AAT) basketball tournament. More than 80 passengers on the ATA 796 flight lost their luggage when the flight was delayed more than three hours during transit in Chicago. U.S. airlines are expected to lose $1.5 billion this year as the corporate travel slowdown erodes business and will likely remain in the red until at least next year, according to estimates by a Washington, D.C.-based industry group.
