Presentation cornet, 15th Yorkshire (North Riding) Rifle Volunteers Band, 1863. Silver plated cornet, made by J Higham, inscribed ‘Presented to George Harrison by The Members of the 15th NYR Volunteer Band as a tribute of their esteem for him as their Leader. September 24th 1863’. Higham produced a number of presentation cornets, often silver plated, and was listed as brass instrument manufacturer to the Army and Navy and for export.
