Taken from painting by Francis Barraud of his brother's dog, Nipper, listening to recording of his dead master on cylinder phonograph. Bought by The Gramophone Company and used as publicity from 1900. Image later modified and simplified to reflect The Gramophone Company's machines. Festival of Britain programme 1951
