Image description

Creator: Chap Him Wong These cottages have a long history, just like the stars above our head. It is the third highest peak in Hong Kong. The stone cottages inside the photo were once built by the British and other westerners for their summer vacation use and now they become wind shelters for campers and photographers. Moreover, these stone cottages are surrounded by the golden silver grass during autumn, making this place unique and no ordinary compare to other places. Alongside the peak covered with silver grass, the sky above is also tantalizing as you can see the Milky Way and stars, inside a highly light polluted and crowded city. Born digital photograph entitled 'Sunset Peak startrail' by Chap Him Wong taken on 1st November 2014 at Sunset Peak, Lantau Island, Hong Kong. Taken with Canon 6D camera with a 14mm f/4 lens, with ISO 1600 and a 3600-second exposure. Winner of People & Space category of Astronomy Photographer of the Year 2015.
