Oslo in the fall of 1965. Oslo Cleaning work has 104 garbage trucks, and cleaning workers empty 70,000 garbage cans two to three times a week, or nearly 90,000 tonnes of household waste a year. Of this, 10-12 tonnes are food residues, and a not insignificant part is hazardous waste. Here garbage cans of the most modern kind, where the waste from the small boxes is emptied in a large container that is later mechanically tipped up on the load.
