The Well of the Seven Heads, found in the Scottish Highlands just south of Invergarry on the west shore of Lock Oich, was erected by Colonel MacDonnel of Glengarry in 1812; The obelisk commemorates the retribution meted out by a Chief of MacDonnel after his two sons were murdered by an uncle and his six sons; The seven perptrators were decapitated and their heads washed in this spring before being taken to the Chief; Even since this spring has been known as 'Tobar-nan-ceann' or 'The Well of the Heads';
