Image description

Narayana Murthy, Chairman and CEO of Infosys Technologies Ltd poses next to a picture of his daughter in his office in Bangalore. Murthy and six other colleagues founded Infosys in 1981 with 10,000 rupees ($230) with money borrowed from their wives. Infosys is now the flagbearer of the Indian computer software industry and is the most admired blue-chip in the country. The company was the first to list on an U.S stock exchange when it was listed on the tech-heavy Nasdaq. Murthy, once a socialist said that he never expected the company to scale such heights and that he wanted to make Infosys a global corporation with multicultural employees. Picture taken April 6.
