All-Union firemen's competitions, Dinamo Stadium, Moscow, 1945. Major-general Bogdanov presides over the contest. Trials show quick reactions and stamina of each brigade. Firemen run towards trucks, place long ladders onto a dummy house and climb to the second floor. Spectators applaud. Other firemen use short ladders to climb the house floor by floor. Contestants jump over hurdles, run over logs, and crawl under ladders with hoses in hands. Others carry fire extinguishers over an obstacle course before tackling the flames. Close up on members of the winning brigade as they are handed flowers.
