Earthquake in the Nile Valley (colour litho)

Earthquake in the Nile Valley. Violent tremors have caused the collapse of several houses and the death of more than twenty people in the capital and other cities of Egypt. The students of an elementary school in Cairo had gathered, for the first time after the summer holidays, in their classroom when the earth jumped. Panicked, the girls rushed down the stairs. The balustrade gave way and many of them fell into the courtyard below. In the disaster, eight young perished while nine others suffered more or less serious injuries.
