Johan Petter Johansson. 1853-1943. Swedish inventor who is often called JP Johansson. Inventor of several important tools, including the wrench and the pipe wrench. Here a mechanical workshop in 1947 where men stand at metal lathes. The lighting that hangs from the ceiling is called the Triplex pendant. A swinging light with a movable arm invented by JP Johansson to improve working conditions in, among other things, workshop premises. The fixture pictured is a development of his earlier patent from 1919 and has a telescoping shaft and a rotating aluminum shade. 1947
