Whole artwork view. Yellow headline over a detail of one of the 20 sheets of the Turgot map of Paris, designed by Louis Bretez and engraved by Claude Lucas for Michel-Etienne Turgot, provost of merchants of Paris in 1734-1736; the map, published in 1739, is in isometric perspective and gives details of both the city and its suburbs; the detail in the cover is from the third from left/third from above engraving, representing the Pont Neuf across the river Seine, the equestrian monument to Henry IV of Bourbon and the adjacent Place Dauphine; on the bottom part is the caption, in white, Architecture as Modification.
