Dressel, Superintendent of the Philadelphia Mint, and Nellie Tayloe Ross, Director of the Bureau of Mints discuss transferring the Philadelphia Mint gold to Fort Knox, Kentucky with all the gold reserve of the United States. Born Nellie Davis Tayloe (1876-1977), Nellie Ross was an American politician who succeeded her husband William B. Ross to become the 14th Governor of Wyoming (the first woman governor of a U.S. state) from 1925-27 and was the first female director of the United States Mint from 1933-53.
