Switzerland, Community Service (b/w photo)

On August 1, 1966, a group of Swiss conscientious objectors started a model WK organized by the International Association for Civilian Service above Albinen in the canton of Valais. The WK was to serve to show the population and the authorities what a military alternative service might look like in the future. The Group is preparing the construction of a mountain road from Albinen to Torrentalp. In the evening the group of men sits in an alphuette at the table and discusses the coming day. On the left the dishcloths for drying are hanging over the oven.
