Eisengiesserei. In der Gewinnung und Verarbeitung des Eisens hat Deutschland stets an hervorragender Stelle gestanden. Hohe Ofen waren bereits im Mittelalter in Betrieb. Wahrend man damals das Eisen noch unmittelbar aus dem Hochofen in Behalter goss, fing man gegen Ende des 17 Jahrh an, den eigentlichen Eisenguss und die reine Eisengewinnung im Hochofenprozess voneinander zu trennen.
