The ghost ship. The German ship Pommern which, at the mercy of the storm, had been abandoned by the crew, and was considered sunk, was instead on the waves. And it suddenly appeared, during a gale, in front of Granville (France). Then some spirited sailors, at great risk, started chasing the ship with their boats, and were able to reach it. Then they insured it to two tugs, who towed it to the port of Saint Servan. Illustration for Courier Sunday, 16 December 1928.
