Sørlandet, summer 1962. When the elephants came to Evje: Four days' struggles for eight minutes of performance. Circus Arnardo is on tour in Southern Norway with five two-ton elephants. It presents problems. They stood in rail cars for one day at Marnardal station because there were no cars that could take them further. The next day they traveled to Grovane station where they were to be charged to the narrow -tracked Setesdalsbanen to Evje. It was unsuccessful, and only after four days came the elephants to Evje per trailers, where the performance was formally over, but where Arnardo entertained with extras for the elephants arranged. Here the elephants the day after the performance on the way to Evje station, where the locals Storøyd get close contact with some of the world's largest creatures.
